Pink Eye

So I woke up this morning with my right eye swollen really badly. This is not that new for me....for whatever reason, if I cry before going to bed, I always wake up with eyelids swollen so bad they are nearly level with the level of your eyebrows and forehead. I thought that maybe since I've been sick that my eyes watered in my sleep and caused them to swell.

So, I got ready anyway and did my best to disguise the now minimal swelling with makeup. I had a big psychopharmacology exam this morning, so I didn't have a choice to miss.

Throughout the course of the exam, my eye continued to water and started seeping yummy green goo. Then, my left eye started it too. It isn't as swolen or irritated, but green goo isn't normal, which means it's in that eye too.

I called kaiser and waited on hold for 30 friggin minutes because of all this swine flu crap. They finally went, "yep, that sounds like pink eye" (which took like a minute to determine) and said that I didn't even need to go in. They are going to have a perscription sent to the pharmacy for me to pick up in a few hours.

Needless to say, I will not be attending my afternoon class. I guess with pink eye, you are highly contageous for 24 hours after starting the meds. I'm going to email my clinic professor now to see if she wants me in seeing clients tomorrow.

I think that means I'm gonna have to throw out all my eye makeup too. Poop.

Guess I'm on house arrest for the next 24 hours! Good thing I just went grocery shopping yesterday...

I feel terrible because Baby keeps trying to snuggle with me and I don't want to pass this nastyness along to her. Last thing I can afford is a big vet bill. But how to you explain this to a cat that wants to cuddle so bad? poor thing.
